For a long time, you have been buffeted by harsh aspects, waiting patiently for things to change for the better. Those changes are on the way, for you will now enter your very best year in over a decade once you get to September. Jupiter is in his final days of spending time in your twelfth house, considered the last house of the horoscope before the wheel turns to point to the first house. Ancient astrologers pointed to the twelfth house as one of healing and health, and for a time to delete anything in your life that you feel you no longer want or need. The twelfth house symbolizes the time you spent in the placenta before you were born, so it is a house of preparation.

The twelfth house is also a house of enormous creativity while you work in solitude, for this house is naturally ruled by Pisces, the sign that gives great emphasis on imagination and the arts. This month a great deal of attention will be focused on this house, so it behooves you to prepare for your coming coronation as celestial favorite and you begin your Emerald Year. The audience is filing the theater, the orchestra is starting up, and now as you stand alone in the wings, you will soon get your cue to walk confidently on center stage into the floodlights.

The more preparation you do now, the better life will be later. It may sound weird, but many people don’t know what they would like to see happen next in life.

Look at your phone, right now. If that phone were to ring, who would be calling, and what news or offer would that person have for you? Until you can see your life like a little movie, down to the tiniest detail, it will be hard to make a dream become reality. You will get your chance at the latter part of August, so let’s talk about that first.

On August 22, Mercury and Jupiter, giver of gifts and luck, will make an annual meeting, but now, for the first time since 1992, it will be in Virgo. Virgo rules your twelfth house, so all the things I have been speaking about apply – it is time to draw up grand plans for the future. If you have no idea how to get started, don’t worry – others can help you with that. Your passion will fuel you. Working alone, behind closed doors, is very favored now, so if you are writing a book or finishing up your thesis, get cracking in August, for you will be very productive.

Mercury also rules your ninth house of big ideas and wide horizons. On August 22, you may travel to a foreign country or to a distant point, or you may be going off to college or graduate school and making final plans. If you want to apply for a green card, visa, or citizenship, this would be the time to put in your application, or to have your immigration interview. Alternatively, with publishing so favored – and broadcasting too – you may get your big break to write a cover story to a magazine, create a major news segment for primetime TV, or sell your manuscript for a book to be published soon. Great things happen when Jupiter touches another planet.

The next date I want to tell you about will be even more important for you. Venus, your ruling planet, will meet with good fortune Jupiter on Saturday, August 27, a wonderful day for singles to have a first date or a blind date.

Sometimes people choose to have surgery at the end of August, when work is a little slower than usual. This year, that would be a great idea – choose the days leading to August 27, depending on when your surgeon schedules procedures and operations. Venus rules your eighth house of transformations, including surgery.

You may get a large sum of money on Saturday, August 27, for when Jupiter is part of an aspect, money is usually indicated as part of the news! Venus rules money, as does Jupiter, and Venus is the natural ruler of your eighth house of other people’s money, so from all sides, it seems likely that you will see cash come in. It may be money that you must keep confidential, for the person who gives it to you may ask you keep this gift under your hat. Or, it may be that you had put in an application for a mortgage, credit card, student loan, scholarship, or other sum, and you hear that your application has been approved.

Now let’s go to the top of the month and see what will be cooking for you! July was a month to devote to your career, but August will have a much more relaxed, fun mood.

The month starts on August 1 with Saturn in ideal angle to the Sun, suggesting a good time to move into a new address or to attend to things that need to be done around the house or apartment. You might want to hire a contractor, close on a house or condo, or do something to help a parent.

This same day, August 1, finds Venus in Leo in a playful mood, reaching out to Uranus, planet of surprise. These two planets are still close enough to be mathematically significant. This would also be a perfect day to take a trip with your partner or to circulate with friends with a big dinner after work.

August 2 brings the new moon in Leo, 11 degrees, and it is full of excitement, charm, and beauty. We’ve had plenty of new moons but this one is one of my very favorites of 2016. This new moon will light your eleventh house of friendship, so your friends will play an integral part of the happiness you feel this month. Uranus will reach out to the planets in your friendship house, bubbling up surprises galore, and you will be touched by how dearly your friends think about you and care for you in August. It appears you’ll be invited to events, many of them dress-up affairs, with lots of creative, interesting people. The conversation will be fascinating at these A-list events. A new moon in Leo suggests no expense will be spared – food will be delicious, flowers artfully displayed, music just right, and the clothing that the guests wear will be very artful.

Saturn will be in fine angle to that new moon, so you may grow very close to a person you were only acquaintances with before this month. Or, because Saturn rules older people, a mature individual may become a mentor to you. This month, the more you attend gatherings, trade shows, conferences, and dinners with friends, the more you will gain. Do so at the start of the month, as soon as August 2 appears.

If you have been thinking of joining an exclusive professional or social club, do so quickly after August 2, the closer AFTER that date, the better. This new moon may also have you thinking about joining a humanitarian or political organization to do fundraising or to help in the programs, or to volunteer to work on a charity benefit. If you can only work on a small scale, you may join a walk for the cure. All these actions would be perfectly timed with the stars aligning in your chart this month. Your eleventh house also rules hopes and wishes, and because this new moon is such a gorgeous new moon, it may act as your fairy godmother to bring you news that you will soon reach a long-held desire. Truly, this is a very exciting month!

If your birthday falls on October 4 plus or minus four days, this new moon will be doubly strong for you. (Although I must add, all Libras will enjoy the benefits that will flow to you!) The same is true if you have Libra rising at 11 degrees (plus or minus five degrees) or a natal planet in Libra, Gemini, or Aquarius, Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius, at 11 degrees (plus or minus five degrees).

All month Mars will emphasize quick, short travel, possibly suggested by your mate or steady date. Mars has been in your financial house in June and July, forcing up expenses, but all that spending will abate now, and you will be able to enjoy yourself. Weekend trips will be particular fun. If you are not dating, you may meet someone on those quick, short trips. Mars has been retrograde since April, but recently turned direct on June 29, so now you will see fast progress in all phases of your life我个人建议练一练比较好. Here is what happened to me when I had that aspect on June 18, 2006. I was in a beautiful house in Los Angeles on a trip with Little Mom. My publicist wanted me to meet her friend and go there with Little Mom. The house was so large it was like a mansion with a beautiful garden, and grapefruits growing on the trees. I wanted to use the ladies room before leaving. That night, my children were to meet me with Little Mom for a wonderful, memorable dinner.

The hostess pointed directly at the door for the ladies room. She said, go in there. It was a strange door – in the living room! I opened the door to complete darkness. I figured the light switch had to be inside a little – and I went flying down a flight of stairs. The hostess never told me that there was a flight of stairs, about 20 in all, inside where I was going. I broke my shoulder and every metatarsal in my left foot. She seemed annoyed I was injured, which was hard to fathom. The evening event with my children and Little Mom was ruined – that night I spent in the ER of a hospital. We all went home the next day, back to New York. I had months of physical therapy (and my friend of a friend whose house this happened in never called me, and never sent me a card.) Saturn conjunct Mars means to protect bones and teeth, and don’t go walking around where you can’t see!

You will love the full moon – it will be big and tender – on August 18 in Aquarius, lighting your fifth house of true love. This is the only full moon of the year to fall in this beautiful part of your chart, and Uranus will bring a bouquet of surprises, all of them good ones. You may hear a confession of love, you may make a promise to the one you are dating, or even get engaged or married. (Full moons are influential for four days plus or minus the day they arrive.) If you are married or in an established relationship, your partner will have wonderful suggestions – listen up! If you are single, love could be around the next corner. If you hope for a baby, then this full moon may bring news that you are pregnant or if you are pregnant and at term, that the baby is due.

If your birthday falls on October 19 plus or minus four days, the full moon will have your name written across its face. You will love the events that happen in your personal, romantic life. Similarly, if you have Libra rising, 26 degrees (or within five degrees) or a natal planet in Libra, Gemini, or Aquarius, or in Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius, plus or minus five degrees, you too will enjoy the romantic, social, and emotional events that happen around this date.

As the month draws to a close, Mercury will begin to retrograde from August 30 to September 22. If you need to buy an electronic item, do so early in the month, or on August 16. That would be the latest I feel you can go. I love August 16 because it will bring the Sun in friendly angle to Uranus, planet in charge of all things newly invented, including high tech items.

Next month, on September 9, Jupiter will crown you the reigning king or queen of the zodiac. Get ready, dear Libra. The curtain is soon to go up!

August is for play, so don’t even THINK of spending long hours at the office. Friends will begin to play a big part of your life once the new moon, August 2, appears. A full moon in is due on August 18 – the only one of the year in Aquarius – and will light your fifth house of true love. This should bring on a positive romantic experience. If you are dating, you will want to decide where to take this relationship – to a more serious, exclusive level? Engagement? If you have been working on your living space, but not making progress because you keep getting distracted with other things, you may see a change when Saturn goes direct on August 13. No matter what your goal – to fix up, renovate, de-clutter, buy, sell, or lease – you will see fewer obstacles and find opportunities that please you.

Mars will align with Saturn in Sagittarius on August 24, a day of risk. This is a warning not to drive when you are sleepy. Keep a new tire in your trunk, and keep your cell phone powered up. Skip extreme sports on the days surrounding August 24. Keep walkways clear and well lit. If riding a horse, choose a gentle one. (Sagittarius is associated with large animals like horses and camels, but it seemed doubtful to me that you would be riding a camel anytime soon.)

Finally, there will be two golden days that deserve a big star on your calendar. The first will be August 22, when Mercury will conjunct Jupiter, an annual event. This would be a great day to travel, to sign papers, or to have any sort of confidential meeting, including a job interview.

The second day will glitter even more. On August 27, Venus, your guardian planet, will link to Jupiter, giver of gifts and luck, which is also an annual event. This day could bring news of a sum of money coming to you, or mark a day when a blind date goes exceptionally well.
